The Prosperkolleg project, which is funded by MWIDE.NRW, has a mandate until the end of May 2022 to research the transformation towards a Circular Economy in the region and to stimulate its implementation.
The Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences and WiN Emscher-Lippe GmbH have joined forces with the City of Bottrop, the Effizienz-Agentur NRW and the Prosperkolleg e.V. association to pave the way for product development and innovative business models for a Circular Economy together with companies in the region. This creates synergy effects between industry, science and local authorities.
Develop more sustainable products and services together with your suppliers, buyers and customers, optimize business processes and thus expand your value-adding network.
Benefit from our demonstration laboratories, where we develop technical and economic solutions for Circular Economy for your business.
What happens with a product, when it reaches the end of its usage? How could we deisgn products, services and whole sectors to enable a longer life for products, material and ressources? These are some of the core questions of the Circular Economy. The idea is to keep all things in the longest loop possible, technical or biological.
Together, we close economic circles by designing new products and creating new manufacturing and habits. It will result in longer usage of natural ressources.
We enable companies to implememt scalable, practicable solutions to circulate ressource. We integrate skills from engineering, IT and economics and give acces to a broad network. By this, we strengthen the competiveness and the potential of innovations at Emscher and Lippe.
The Prosperkolleg stands for new beginnings, but also for solidarity with the location. The name says it all. We take up the history, especially the influence of mining, and collectively develop new forms of prosperity. Located on the rivers Emscher and Lippe, the region of the same name forms the northern part of the Ruhr area and at the same time sees itself as a bridge to the Münsterland. While the mining era is coming to an end, we are working here to create a centre of Circular Economy for North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and beyond.
